Gutsy Women Write Hard Stories - Join Janine
4-weeks (September 13, 20, 27 & October 4)
Sundays 3-4:15 PST / 6-7:15 ET On Zoom
Overview
In just 4 fast-paced weeks you will leave with a story, essay, chapter or even be prepared to tell your story on a podcast. These stories will be difficult, but I’ll guide you with prompts that take you in surprising directions, and by the end of the first class you will discover at least one story to tell. Next, we will go deep into the minds of our “narrators” (you on the page today and in the past) as you get down the facts of your story. We’ll then discover realistic dialogue, vibrant scenes and lush settings that make your story cinematic. Last, you will reconsider your past with earned wisdom.
What's a hard story? A hard story might be about a mental health struggle, but it could be a secret, or a difficult life transition...really anything that may make you feel a bit lighter once it's written. There are no rules. If you are writing fiction, you can even use the class to flesh out a character's psychology.
