Janine Noel
Writer, Editor, Host
I've been in the business of storytelling for several years—most recently as a writer, editor and creative writing instructor. With a background in performing arts, I hold an MFA in creative nonfiction from Saint Mary’s College of California. I've taught at the college and community level, and am particularly interested in autobiographical storytelling and how writing about our personal experiences can speak to universal themes, reaching readers and listeners of all backgrounds. And, let's always keep the development of story engaging and fun.
Bipolar She
Podcast Host
The project began while I was writing a memoir about coping with both mental and physical illness. It became important to me to not dial down the details of dark times. This show grew out of my desire to have real—often gritty—stories told from others as well. A mix of my experiences and the lives of others, my podcast has one goal: to get strong mental health stories out there with the hope that somehow and someway a listener will feel less alone.
Editing & Coaching
For ten years, I have been working-one-to-one with talented writers in all stages of their writing lives. I find it thrilling to watch both fiction and nonfiction work become more vibrant and focused, ultimately leaving a lasting impression on readers. I particularly love helping writers in all genres create unforgettable characters, cinematic scenes, and stories that shine through fresh prose.
